Interest rates hike, Unite response
- Thursday 5 November 2026
Responding to the increase in interest rates announced today, Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “This rate rise is a further blow to working class households. It means rising mortgage and credit card bills on top of stagnating take-home pay and the £400 plus energy bill spike looming in January. As Trump takes a beating on cost of living in the United States, our government needs a real plan to support living standards."
